ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on studying a new test called pancreatic stone protein (PSP) to see if it can help doctors diagnose a serious condition known as urosepsis in patients who are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Urosepsis is a type of severe infection that affects the urinary system and can be life-threatening. The researchers want to find out if PSP can be a better marker for identifying this condition compared to other tests, as well as how well it can predict the chances of recovery or survival for patients.
To participate in this trial, you need to be an adult patient over 18 years old who is ill and at risk of developing urosepsis. Unfortunately, if you have already been diagnosed with sepsis upon your arrival at the hospital or have certain other serious health issues, you won't be eligible to join. This study is still in the planning stage and hasn't started recruiting participants yet, but if you qualify, you may be contributing to important research that could improve how doctors diagnose and treat urosepsis in the future.
