ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at the use of two treatments—autologous platelet rich plasma (PRP) injection and platelet rich fibrin glue (PRFG)—to help heal anal fistulas, which are abnormal connections between the anal canal and the skin around the anus. The goal is to see if these treatments can reduce the chances of the fistula coming back after treatment.
To participate in this study, you would need to be between 20 and 60 years old and have a perianal fistula. However, this trial is not for everyone; for example, if you have low platelet counts, specific types of fistulas like rectovaginal fistulas, or are experiencing severe infections, you would not be eligible. If you join the study, you can expect to receive one of the two treatments being tested and be monitored for how well it works in healing the fistula. It’s important to know that this trial is not yet recruiting participants, so it may take some time before it starts.
