ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on understanding how common inflammation in the upper part of the digestive system is among patients with ulcerative colitis (UC). Ulcerative colitis is a condition that causes inflammation in the colon, but some patients may also have issues in the upper gastrointestinal tract, which includes the esophagus and stomach. The researchers will use a procedure called esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) to look for these issues and examine their features. The goal is to find these problems early so that patients can receive the right treatment.
To participate in the trial, you need to be at least 18 years old and have a diagnosis of ulcerative colitis. You also need to be healthy enough to undergo the endoscopy procedure. Unfortunately, children and those with other known upper gastrointestinal disorders cannot take part. Although the trial is not yet recruiting participants, it aims to improve how we detect and treat issues in the upper GI tract for people with UC, ultimately enhancing patient care.
