ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called TRANSPELV, is studying how the body changes after a specific type of surgery for transgender women (those assigned male at birth who identify as female). The researchers want to see how the area around the pelvic and perineal region evolves over time, particularly looking for a condition called rectocele, which can happen when the rectum bulges into the vagina. They will use special imaging called MRI to take pictures of this area before surgery and again at 6 and 24 months after the procedure.
To participate in this trial, individuals need to be at least 18 years old and scheduled for a vaginoplasty surgery at Limoges' University Hospital. It's important that they have social security coverage and provide written consent to join the study. However, those who are having different types of surgeries or cannot undergo an MRI will not be eligible. Participants can expect to have their MRI scans done at the specified times and will help researchers learn more about the effects of this surgery on the body.
