ClinConnect Summary

The Narrative Intervention for Chronic Illness-Heart Failure (NICI-HF) trial is studying a new way to support people living with heart failure, particularly those in more advanced stages (NYHA Class III and IV). This trial will involve up to 70 participants who will receive a special text-based program designed to help them manage their health and emotional well-being. The main goals are to see how this program affects feelings of depression and anxiety and to improve self-care for heart failure. Participants will be divided into two groups: one group will use the new intervention, while the other will be a comparison group not using the program. Researchers will check in with both groups at the beginning of the study, and again after three and six months.

To be eligible for this study, participants must be between 18 and 89 years old, diagnosed with heart failure (NYHA Class III or IV), and have a working email and phone. The trial is not yet recruiting, but once it starts, participants can expect to take part in an innovative program that aims to improve their quality of life and access to care. This study is particularly focused on making sure that everyone, including those from diverse and underserved backgrounds, can benefit from better health support.
