ClinConnect Summary
The clinical trial titled "All in the Family: Promoting Family Function Through Physical Activity" is exploring how getting families more active can improve their overall functioning. The main goal is to encourage children aged 6 to 10 to engage in moderate to vigorous physical activities, like playing sports or running around, while also promoting family activities where parents and children exercise together. The researchers believe that when parents actively support their children's physical activity, it can lead to better family dynamics and healthier lifestyles.
To participate, families must have at least one parent and one child between the ages of 6 and 10 who currently engage in less than 60 minutes of active play each day. Families living in Canada are welcome to join, but children who already meet the activity guideline of 60 minutes per day, or who do not pass a basic health questionnaire, will not be eligible. Participants can expect to take part in activities designed to help them become more physically active together and to learn how to support each other in staying active. This trial is currently recruiting families who want to make a positive change in their health and family relationships.
