ClinConnect Summary
The I-CARE 2 clinical trial is looking at a mobile app called Brain CareNotes, which is designed to help Hispanic caregivers of people with Alzheimer's disease and related conditions. The app provides support for managing challenging behaviors and emotional symptoms that often come with dementia. Over a period of 10 months, the study will involve 40 Hispanic caregivers who take care of individuals living at home. Participants will be randomly assigned to either use the Brain CareNotes app or a different app that offers educational information, and they will receive reminders to use the app throughout the year.
To join this study, caregivers must be unpaid, identify as Hispanic, and care for someone diagnosed with Alzheimer's or a similar condition. They should also be at least 18 years old, able to read in English, and living in the community—meaning their care recipient is not in a nursing home. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and it aims to understand how well the app works and what caregivers need most in their roles. This might be a great opportunity for caregivers looking for additional support in their caregiving journey.
