ClinConnect Summary
The "Strong Families Start at Home" clinical trial is designed to help improve the eating habits of preschool-aged children from low-income Latinx/Hispanic families. The study aims to find out if a special program that includes support from a coach can help children eat healthier, encourage better feeding practices from parents, and increase the availability of healthy foods at home. Participants will receive monthly visits and phone calls from a coach for three months, along with helpful written materials and text messages over a six-month period.
To participate, caregivers need to be at least 18 years old, identify as Latinx/Hispanic, and primarily care for a child aged 2 to 5 years. It's important that they share meals with their child at least three times a week and have a smartphone. However, families cannot join if a doctor has recently said their child is underweight or if the child has specific feeding disorders. This trial is currently recruiting participants and aims to make a positive difference in the dietary habits of families.
