ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the oral health of pregnant women who have gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). The researchers want to understand how GDM might affect the health of their gums and teeth, as well as the types of bacteria (oral flora) present in their mouths. By examining these factors, they hope to learn more about the connection between GDM and oral health, which could help improve care for pregnant women in the future.
To participate in this study, women must be at least 18 years old and between 27 to 36 weeks pregnant. They should have a healthy periodontal (gum) condition before pregnancy and not have any serious health issues or complications related to their pregnancy. Participants will undergo a dental examination and answer some questions about their oral health. This research is ongoing, and the findings may lead to better understanding and management of oral health for pregnant women with GDM.
