ClinConnect Summary
The ASCENT trial is a study designed to help patients diagnosed with malignant brain tumors, specifically focusing on how to improve their emotional well-being and coping skills. Researchers want to see if a new support program, called ASCENT, is practical and helpful for patients. If you are eligible, you’ll be asked to take part in six coaching sessions and fill out short surveys to share your experience. Some participants may also be invited to provide feedback through interviews to help improve the program.
To be eligible for this trial, you need to be at least 18 years old, have been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor within the last six months, and be a patient at Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center. You should also be able to speak English. It’s important to note that people with certain severe cognitive issues or those currently in hospice care won't be able to participate. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to provide valuable support to those facing the challenges of a brain tumor diagnosis.
