ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new test called eBAM-CoV, which is designed to detect the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the cause of COVID-19, using exhaled air instead of the traditional nasal swab method. Traditional testing has some drawbacks, such as being invasive and sometimes providing unclear results. The eBAM-CoV test aims to provide quicker and clearer results by measuring the amount of viral proteins in the breath of patients suspected of having COVID-19. Researchers believe that this new method will work well alongside the standard test, especially for people showing symptoms or those who have been in close contact with infected individuals.
To participate in this trial, you need to be an adult over 18 years old and have symptoms of COVID-19 or have been in contact with someone who tested positive. Unfortunately, pregnant women, those currently in another study, or individuals unable to understand the test procedures cannot take part. If you join the study, you'll use this portable device to provide a sample of your breath, and you'll receive quick results about whether the virus is present. This trial is currently recruiting participants and aims to improve how we test for COVID-19 in the future.
