ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the use of binaural sound, which involves listening to different sounds in each ear, to see if it can help patients go into general anesthesia more quickly and with a lower dose of a medication called remimazolam. This trial is specifically looking at patients who are going to have surgery for prostate cancer or uterine myoma (a type of benign tumor in the uterus).
To be eligible to participate, you need to be between the ages of 20 and 60 and scheduled for general anesthesia. You should also be in good health, classified as either healthy or having mild health issues. However, if you have hearing problems, have recently used certain medications like opioids or sedatives, or have specific medical conditions like heart disease or liver failure, you won’t be able to participate. If you join the trial, you can expect to listen to binaural sounds while receiving the remimazolam, and researchers will monitor how quickly you become unconscious and how much medication you need. This study could help improve the way anesthesia is administered in the future.
