ClinConnect Summary
The REAL Fathers Intervention Evaluation is a study designed to help young fathers in Uganda improve their parenting skills and reduce family violence. This trial focuses on fathers aged 18-25 who have children under three years old. The goal is to see if a community-based program can help these fathers learn more about positive parenting, improve their relationships with their children, and decrease harmful behaviors, such as using physical punishment or being violent with their partners.
To participate in this trial, young fathers must live in one of the selected areas in Uganda, be the biological father of a young child, and live with the child’s mother or guardian. Their partners can also join the study. Participants can expect to take part in activities and discussions that promote healthy communication and conflict resolution within the family. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and it aims to create a supportive environment for young fathers to become more engaged and loving parents.
