ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the causes of pelvic pain in women, particularly focusing on those with a condition called endometriosis. The researchers want to understand how pain changes after surgery to remove endometriosis lesions and to identify what factors can help predict pain relief after this surgery. The trial also aims to explore how other factors, like hormones and psychological aspects, might influence pain levels.
Women aged 12 to 45 who experience pelvic pain and are scheduled for surgery related to endometriosis may be eligible to participate. During the trial, participants will fill out various questionnaires about their health and undergo tests to assess how they respond to different types of physical sensations. They will also provide samples like blood and urine for further analysis. Participants will be asked to complete follow-up surveys about their pain and symptoms for a year after surgery. For younger participants, a parent or guardian will need to help with some of the surveys. This study aims to provide valuable insights that could improve treatment for women suffering from pelvic pain.
