ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how well a specific blood test called NT-proBNP can help identify a type of heart failure known as heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) in people who may also be dealing with obesity. The researchers want to find out if using different levels of NT-proBNP can better pinpoint HFpEF in these patients. They are also exploring new potential blood markers that could help identify this heart condition, especially in individuals who have low NT-proBNP levels.
To participate in this study, you need to be at least 18 years old and have had an NT-proBNP test done by your doctor because they suspected you might have heart failure. However, if you have severe cognitive issues that prevent you from consenting, or if you have been diagnosed with heart failure before, you won't be able to join. If you take part in the trial, you can expect to contribute to important research that may improve how doctors diagnose heart failure in patients with obesity.
