ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a new way to help adults with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) who are already using a device called a mandibular advancement device (MAD) to keep their airway open while they sleep. The study focuses on oropharyngeal exercises, which are exercises that strengthen the muscles in the throat and tongue. By improving the strength and endurance of these muscles, the trial aims to see if it can help reduce breathing interruptions during sleep, lessen symptoms of sleep apnea, and improve tongue shape and size.
To participate in this trial, you need to be an adult over 20 years old who has OSA and regularly uses a MAD (at least half the time). However, if you have a high body mass index (BMI), are pregnant, have serious lung issues, or certain other health conditions, you may not be eligible. If you join the trial, you can expect to engage in exercises designed to strengthen your throat and tongue muscles, with the hope of improving your sleep quality and overall health. The study is currently recruiting participants, so if you think you might qualify, consider reaching out for more information.
