ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how common it is for children with chronic kidney disease (CKD) who are on regular hemodialysis to develop antibodies against the Hepatitis C virus (HCV). The researchers want to understand how often this happens and what factors might increase the risk for these children. The study will take place at Assiut University Children Hospital, specifically in the dialysis unit, and aims to gather important information that can help improve the care of these young patients.
To be considered for this study, children need to be between 1 and 18 years old and must have been on regular hemodialysis treatment for at least one month. Unfortunately, younger children under 1 year or older teens above 18, as well as those not receiving regular hemodialysis, will not be eligible. If children participate, they will undergo tests to check for the presence of the Hepatitis C virus and its associated antibodies. The findings from this trial could provide valuable insights into the health of children with CKD and help identify ways to better manage their care.
