ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on understanding how to better diagnose and predict outcomes for newborns who experience seizures, specifically through the use of EEG (electroencephalogram) tests. The research will take place at Assiut University Children Hospital, and it aims to identify important criteria that can help doctors recognize these seizures more accurately and understand their implications for the baby’s health.
To participate in this study, infants up to 28 days old who have had a seizure—characterized by sudden changes in their movement—may be eligible. However, babies with non-seizure related movements, such as tremors or normal behaviors like stretching or coughing, will not be included. While the trial is not yet recruiting participants, once it begins, families can expect to work closely with healthcare professionals who will monitor their baby’s condition and gather important information to help improve the care of future newborns with similar issues.
