ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is exploring how different factors can affect the success of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for people with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) who have a history of self-harm. The researchers want to understand whether certain personality traits or issues with self-identity can predict how well someone responds to DBT. They are also looking at how changes in feelings about oneself and the ability to manage emotions can influence treatment outcomes. Participants will be followed up for a year to see if the benefits of therapy last over time.

To join this study, individuals must be between 18 and 65 years old, diagnosed with BPD, and have engaged in self-harm in the past year. They should also be able to read and communicate in Swedish. Those who participate will receive DBT at the Lund adult psychiatric clinic, where they can expect support and therapy tailored to their needs. This trial is currently recruiting participants and aims to provide valuable insights into how different factors impact the effectiveness of therapy for people struggling with BPD.
