ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how well two different types of heaters can prevent body temperature from dropping during surgery, specifically for patients receiving inhalation anesthesia. The trial compares an active air-blown heater and a resistive heater to see which one works better in keeping patients warm, especially since low-flow anesthesia is known to be better at preventing hypothermia compared to high-flow anesthesia.

To be eligible for this study, participants must be between the ages of 18 and 65 and scheduled for a rhinoplasty (a nose surgery). However, patients with a high body mass index (BMI over 35), certain medical conditions like heart or thyroid issues, or those who have had recent infections or are taking specific medications will not be able to join. If you decide to participate, you can expect to be part of an important effort to help improve anesthesia safety and comfort for future patients.
