ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how patients with terminal illnesses, like advanced cancer, respond to music therapy. The researchers want to find out if listening to live music therapy is more enjoyable and beneficial than listening to a recorded version. They will use special wristbands to measure how the body reacts to both types of music therapy, looking at things like heart rate and skin responses. Additionally, participants will complete questionnaires to assess their quality of life and any feelings of anxiety or depression during their care.
To participate in this study, you need to be over 18 years old and able to give your consent. You must be receiving care for a serious illness with a limited life expectancy at the University Hospital Zurich. However, those who cannot complete the questionnaires due to physical or mental challenges will not be included. If you decide to take part, you can expect a supportive environment where your experiences with music therapy will be carefully monitored and evaluated to help improve care for others in similar situations.
