ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying whether lavender essential oil chest wraps can help relieve cough and improve breathing in infants with bronchiolitis, a common respiratory condition. The researchers want to see if these wraps can also help reduce nighttime awakenings and make things easier for parents. Infants participating in the study will either receive the standard care they usually get for bronchiolitis, along with the lavender wraps, or just the standard care alone. The trial is taking place at two hospitals in Switzerland.

To be eligible for this trial, infants must have a clinical diagnosis of bronchiolitis and need to be hospitalized. There are certain conditions that would exclude infants from participating, such as serious heart or lung problems, or if they have had more than three episodes of bronchiolitis. Parents who decide to enroll their child can expect to help with the study by providing consent for their child to participate, and they’ll be informed about the care their child will receive throughout the trial. This study aims to find out if lavender oil wraps can offer any additional benefits for infants suffering from this condition.
