ClinConnect Summary
The SCORES trial is exploring how effective robotic exercises are for helping stroke survivors recover, particularly focusing on their cognitive skills and sensory abilities in addition to their physical movement. While robotic rehabilitation has previously shown promise in improving daily activities and strength, recent studies haven't found significant benefits compared to traditional therapies. This trial aims to see if these robotic therapies can also help with thinking skills, sensory problems, and how these factors influence overall recovery from stroke.
To participate, individuals must be between 18 and 85 years old and have experienced a stroke verified by an MRI or CT scan within the last six months. They should also have a specific range of scores on a cognitive assessment test that measures thinking skills. Participants will receive either robotic therapy or conventional treatment and will be monitored to see how well they improve in both their physical and mental recovery. This study is currently recruiting and is open to anyone who meets the eligibility criteria.
