ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how different methods can help reduce pain and anxiety for women during the insertion of an intrauterine device (IUD). The study will test three approaches: inhaling lavender, focusing techniques, and listening to music. A total of 240 women, aged 18 to 45, who are getting an IUD for the first time will be included. To participate, women should be able to read and write in Turkish, have no history of cervical surgery, and must not have any active mental health issues or pain before the procedure.
Participants will be randomly divided into four groups: one group will inhale lavender, another will practice focusing techniques, a third will listen to music, and the last group will not receive any additional support (the control group). Throughout the study, researchers will measure the women’s pain and anxiety levels using simple numerical scales. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and it aims to find out which method is the most effective in making the IUD insertion experience more comfortable.
