ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring ways to better engage Hispanic and Latino families of children with autism in research. The study aims to compare two methods of gathering feedback: design thinking, which involves creative problem-solving and collaboration, and traditional focus groups. The goal is to see if the design thinking approach leads to greater satisfaction and involvement from families when discussing their experiences and challenges with therapeutic services for their autistic children.
To participate, families must meet specific criteria. Eligible autistic children should have a confirmed diagnosis of autism, be from Hispanic or Latino backgrounds, and have received therapy services in the past. Their parents or caregivers must also be Hispanic or Latino and willing to share their experiences in either the design thinking sessions or focus groups. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two methods and will provide feedback on how acceptable and suitable the research approach is for their cultural background. The study is not currently recruiting participants, but it aims to help improve how research is conducted and how services are provided to Hispanic and Latino families in the future.
