ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on understanding how neonatal sepsis affects preterm infants and what factors might predict their chances of survival. Neonatal sepsis is a serious infection that can occur in newborns, especially those born before 37 weeks of pregnancy. The study will be conducted in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) at Assiut University Children's Hospital and aims to gather important information about the outcomes of these vulnerable babies.
To participate in this trial, infants must be preterm (born before 37 weeks) and diagnosed with neonatal sepsis, and they should be between 0 to 28 days old. Unfortunately, full-term infants (born after 37 weeks), or those with certain medical conditions like congenital anomalies or metabolic diseases, will not be included. For those eligible, the study will involve monitoring their health and collecting data to help improve the understanding and treatment of neonatal sepsis in the future. This is an important step towards ensuring better care for preterm infants facing this serious condition.
