ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is testing a new way to help reduce the risk of suicide among U.S. servicemembers and veterans who use the social media platform RallyPoint. The study, called "Professional Outreach," aims to encourage participants to reach out for mental health support when they are feeling distressed or having suicidal thoughts. By using a psychoeducational approach, the trial hopes to make it easier for individuals to connect with resources like suicide hotlines.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be active users of RallyPoint who have had at least one of their posts identified by a special computer program as containing concerning language about their mental health. This means they may have expressed feelings of distress or suicidal thoughts in their posts. The trial is currently recruiting participants of all genders, aged 65 to 74. If you or someone you know fits this description and is interested in participating, they will receive support and guidance throughout the process to help them reach out for the help they need.
