ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is designed to explore how emerging adults, aged 18 to 24, respond to health programs when they participate with a peer. The researchers want to understand how this shared experience might affect changes in thinking and behavior concerning alcohol use over time. Participants will be invited to a special day where they will complete questionnaires, work together on a brief health program, and undergo a brain scan while engaging in various activities. Follow-up check-ins will occur at 3, 6, and 12 months to see how their health behaviors have changed.

To be eligible for this study, participants must be between 18 and 24 years old, agree to follow-up contacts, and provide consent to join the trial. However, individuals who are left-handed, have a history of brain injury or certain neurological conditions, have lost consciousness for more than two minutes, or have any issues with MRI scans (like having metal in their bodies or being pregnant) cannot participate. This trial offers a unique opportunity to learn about the impact of peer support on health in a safe and structured environment.
