ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is designed to compare two types of sutures—polypropylene and polyglactin—used for stitching the lung during surgery. The goal is to find out which type of suture works better in repairing lung injuries, such as those caused by lung cancer or other conditions. The study will take place at Assiut University Hospital, and they are looking for participants who are scheduled for surgeries like lung tear repairs or procedures to remove large air sacs or parts of the lung.

To be eligible for this trial, patients need to be between the ages of 65 and 74 and must be admitted to the hospital for the specific surgeries mentioned. However, if someone has undergone a lung repair using a stapler instead of sutures, they won't be able to participate. If you join the trial, you can expect to be part of a study that aims to improve surgical outcomes for lung surgeries, contributing valuable information to help future patients. This trial is currently not recruiting participants, but it’s important to know that it will focus on finding the best methods for lung surgery repairs.
