ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a special therapy group designed for women veterans who struggle with alcohol use disorder. The goal is to see how effective a Female-Specific Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Group can be in helping these women reduce their drinking and improve their overall health. The study is currently recruiting participants, and they are specifically looking for women who are at least 18 years old, have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, and are receiving care at a VA healthcare facility in New York. Eligible participants should also have a certain level of risky drinking or a diagnosis of alcohol use disorder.
If you decide to join this trial, you can expect to participate in group therapy sessions that focus on changing behaviors and thoughts related to drinking. The study aims to provide a supportive environment where you can learn from both therapists and fellow participants. It's important to note that if you are experiencing severe mental health issues, such as being acutely suicidal or pregnant, you may not be able to participate. This trial offers a unique opportunity for women veterans to receive targeted support for their alcohol use challenges.
