ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how to better predict the risk of developing gastrointestinal cancers, such as esophageal, gastric, and colorectal cancer. These types of cancer can be very serious, but early detection through screening can significantly improve survival rates. The researchers want to identify common risk factors—like age, gender, family history, smoking, and alcohol consumption—that might indicate a higher risk for these cancers. By understanding these factors, they aim to create a model that can help screen for multiple types of gastrointestinal tumors more effectively.
To participate in this study, individuals must be between 18 and 80 years old and willing to undergo both a gastroscopy (a procedure to look at the stomach) and a colonoscopy (a procedure to look at the colon) at the same time. However, people who have already been diagnosed with any of these cancers, have certain health conditions, or are pregnant or breastfeeding cannot participate. If you join the study, you can expect to contribute to important research that may help improve cancer screening methods in the future. Your involvement could help many others by leading to earlier detection and better treatment options for gastrointestinal cancers.
