ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how chronic ankle instability (CAI) affects balance and movement control in athletes. CAI is when athletes frequently sprain their ankles or feel like their ankles are giving way. The researchers want to explore how this condition impacts the body's ability to sense and respond to movement and how different treatments, including sensory electrical stimulation and exercise, can help improve these skills.
To join the study, participants need to be between 18 and 40 years old and have experienced at least one ankle sprain in the past year that still causes issues. They should also feel a "soft foot" sensation in their ankle. Participants will undergo tests to measure their balance and muscle activity, and then they will receive different treatments over several weeks. The goal is to find the best ways to help athletes with ankle instability recover and perform better.
