ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called the Breast 3DUS ABUS System Comparison, is designed to study a new type of breast ultrasound imaging. Researchers want to see how well a special 3D ultrasound device can find tumors and other important features in the breast compared to the standard 2D ultrasound that is commonly used. The study will involve 30 women who are scheduled to have a routine mammogram and ultrasound. During their appointment, they will receive additional 3D ultrasound images to help compare the two methods.
To participate in this trial, you need to be an adult woman aged 18 or older who is scheduled for either a screening or follow-up breast ultrasound. Unfortunately, if you have breast implants, certain medical conditions that prevent you from having this type of ultrasound, or if you cannot tolerate the procedure, you will not be eligible. If you join the study, you can expect to undergo the usual ultrasound procedure with a few extra images taken to help researchers gather information about the effectiveness of the new 3D technology. This study is important because it may help improve breast cancer detection in the future.
