ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying the effectiveness of a combination of probiotic capsules and a topical treatment called clobetasol propionate for patients with oral lichen planus, a condition that causes painful sores in the mouth. Participants in the trial will be split into two groups: one group will take probiotics and apply clobetasol gel, while the other group will use clobetasol gel more frequently and will also use a different gel for prevention. The goal is to see how well these treatments work in reducing symptoms of oral lichen planus over a four-week period.

To be eligible for this study, participants must be between 20 and 75 years old and have been diagnosed with symptomatic oral lichen planus. They should be generally healthy and not taking certain medications that could interfere with the study. Throughout the trial, participants will have visits at the beginning, two weeks in, and at the end of the four weeks, during which their saliva will be collected to help assess the treatment's effectiveness. This is an important opportunity for individuals with this condition to potentially benefit from a new treatment approach while contributing to medical research.
