ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is examining a new tool designed to help doctors and patients make decisions together about treatment options for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Patients with NSCLC face many choices regarding their care, and this study aims to see if using a special communication tool during doctor visits can improve the decision-making process. The tool is meant to help doctors explain the benefits and risks of different treatment options while considering each patient's unique situation, preferences, and goals. Ultimately, the hope is that this will lead to greater patient satisfaction with their treatment choices.
To participate in this trial, patients must be at least 18 years old, have non-small cell lung cancer that is stage 1B or higher, and have been referred for additional treatment by their oncologist. The trial is currently recruiting participants at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, and it includes both patients and various healthcare professionals involved in their care. If eligible, participants can expect to engage in discussions about their treatment options using the new communication tool, which may enhance their understanding and involvement in the decision-making process.
