ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how effective a special type of electric toothbrush, called a dual light ultrasonic toothbrush, is compared to a regular manual toothbrush for patients with cleft lip and palate who are recovering from oral surgery. The goal is to see which toothbrush helps keep their gums healthier during this important healing period.
To participate in this study, individuals need to be between the ages of 6 and 20 and must be patients at the Craniofacial and Special Care Orthodontic Clinic at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. They should have a diagnosis of cleft lip and palate and be in good physical health. Participants will be asked to use one of the two types of toothbrushes after their surgery, and their gum health will be monitored. This trial is currently looking for volunteers, and it’s a great opportunity to contribute to research that could help improve dental care for young patients with similar conditions.
