ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is designed to compare two types of anesthesia—desflurane and sevoflurane—used in combination with a pain medication called remifentanil for patients undergoing spine surgery. The goal is to see how each type of anesthesia affects the amount of remifentanil needed to manage pain during and after the surgery. This research is important because it could help doctors choose the best anesthesia for patients with spinal issues, such as herniated discs or spinal cord injuries.
To participate in this trial, patients need to be diagnosed with specific spinal conditions, but they should not have certain health issues like liver problems or a history of chronic pain or opioid abuse. The trial is currently not recruiting participants, but once it starts, those who are eligible can expect to receive careful monitoring and support throughout their surgery and recovery process. Overall, this study aims to improve pain management and patient comfort during spinal surgeries.
