ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is exploring whether high-dose insulin therapy can help improve liver function before surgery in patients with liver problems, particularly those with liver metastasis from colon cancer. The main goal is to see if this treatment can support the liver's ability to recover and function better after a major surgical procedure to remove part of the liver. Participants will receive a special insulin and sugar infusion for six hours in the weeks leading up to their surgery to help create a balanced state in their bodies, and doctors will measure how well the liver is working before and after surgery using a specific imaging test.

To join this trial, patients need to be over 18 years old and scheduled for major liver surgery due to treatable colorectal liver metastasis. Some people may not be eligible, like those with type 1 diabetes or those whose cancer cannot be surgically removed. If you qualify, you can expect to receive careful monitoring and support as part of the study, which aims to gain valuable insights into improving liver health and recovery.
