ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new treatment called Metacognitive Training Minus (MCT Minus) for people with schizophrenia who experience negative symptoms, such as lack of motivation, social withdrawal, and difficulties in thinking clearly. Unlike positive symptoms, like hallucinations or delusions, negative symptoms are harder to treat with current medications and therapies. The goal of this study is to see if MCT Minus can help reduce these negative symptoms and improve overall functioning, as well as tackle issues like low self-esteem and feelings of stigma.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be over 18 years old and have a clinical diagnosis of schizophrenia, delusional disorder, or non-affective psychosis. They also need to live in specific regions of Sweden. Participants can expect to engage in sessions aimed at improving their thinking and coping skills, and their progress will be carefully monitored. This study hopes to build on previous research and provide new insights into how this type of training can benefit those struggling with negative symptoms of schizophrenia.
