ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how different levels of a breathing support technique, called PEEP (Positive End-Expiratory Pressure), affect the amount of air in the stomach during the process of putting children to sleep for surgery. The goal is to see if adjusting this breathing support can help make the anesthesia process smoother and safer for children aged 1 to 12 years who are in good health and scheduled for elective surgeries.
If your child is between 1 and 12 years old and is healthy enough to undergo surgery, they may be eligible to participate in this study. However, children with certain conditions, like a higher risk of vomiting or specific breathing or heart problems, will not be included. If they join the trial, participants will have their stomachs monitored during anesthesia induction to see how the different PEEP levels affect them. This study is currently recruiting participants, and it aims to ensure that children have a safer experience during surgery.
