ClinConnect Summary
The CareVax project is a clinical trial designed to help frail patients at the Fondazione Policlinico Universitario 'A. Gemelli' hospital receive important vaccinations. These vaccines are meant to protect against serious illnesses like pneumonia, shingles, flu, hepatitis B, and COVID-19. By increasing vaccination rates among these patients, the goal is to reduce hospital stays, long-term health issues, and even deaths from these diseases. The trial will use a special computer program to identify eligible patients based on their health records and vaccination history. If you are a patient aged 18 or older who has visited certain departments at the hospital and live in the Lazio region, you might qualify for this study.
If you are contacted as part of this study, you can expect assistance in scheduling a vaccination appointment. For those who are extremely frail, vaccinations will take place at the hospital, while those who are less frail will receive vaccines at a nearby health unit. The project also includes a validation phase where doctors will check if the computer program is accurately identifying patients who need vaccinations. Overall, the CareVax project aims to make it easier for frail patients to get vaccinated and stay healthy.
