ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how virtual reality (VR) glasses can help reduce fear and anxiety in patients preparing for open heart surgery. Researchers believe that using VR might make patients feel calmer and less scared about their upcoming surgery. The study will include about 60 participants who meet certain criteria, such as being 18 years or older, scheduled for their first open heart surgery, and not having any serious mental health conditions that could affect their ability to understand the study.
If you or a loved one are eligible and decide to participate, you will be divided into two groups: one group will use the VR glasses, while the other will not. Throughout the study, researchers will gather information about your feelings of fear and anxiety related to surgery. This trial is not currently recruiting participants, but it aims to provide valuable insights into how VR technology can support patients facing surgery and improve their overall experience.
