ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a surgical technique called intermediate cleft rhinoplasty for children with a unilateral cleft lip, which is a condition where the lip does not fully form on one side. The goal of the study is to improve both the appearance and function of the nose by using a combination of different surgical methods. Researchers will assess how well this approach works by looking at the results from 20 patients aged 1 to 13 who have had a cleft lip repair but still have some nasal deformity.
If you have a child who meets the criteria, they could be eligible to participate in this study. Participants will undergo a thorough medical and physical examination to evaluate their nasal condition before surgery. They will receive care and follow-up visits at 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year after the procedure. Throughout the study, all patient information will be kept private, and informed consent will be required from parents or guardians. This trial aims to create a better approach for managing nasal deformities in children with unilateral cleft lip, ultimately helping improve their quality of life.
