ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how teaching older adults about good sleep habits, known as sleep hygiene, can improve their sleep health. Researchers want to see if providing education on practices like maintaining a regular sleep schedule, creating a comfortable sleep environment, and avoiding caffeine before bed can lead to better sleep. They will measure the results by asking participants how they feel about their sleep and by using wearable devices to track their sleep patterns.
To participate, you need to be between 50 and 80 years old and own a smartphone that can receive text messages. However, if you have an untreated sleep disorder like insomnia or sleep apnea, or if you cannot wear a wrist device, you won’t be eligible to join. If you do participate, you can expect to receive information on sleep hygiene practices and have your sleep monitored over time. This study could help improve sleep for many older adults and provide insights into the importance of good sleep habits.
