ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial, called "OUD Smartphone Services," is looking at whether a smartphone app can help people diagnosed with opioid use disorder (OUD). The app allows participants to take and share videos of themselves doing saliva drug tests, while also providing reminders, rewards, activities, and access to live support. The study lasts for one year, requiring about 30 minutes each week for video submissions, a one-hour interview at the start, and hour-long check-in interviews every three months.

To join the study, participants need to be at least 18 years old, live in the U.S., speak and read English fluently, and own a smartphone that works with the app. They must also have a diagnosis of opioid use disorder or admit to having issues with opioid use, have used unprescribed opioids in the last month, and either be starting or have recently started treatment to help with their opioid use. However, people currently in another treatment study, those with alcohol use disorder, or those who are incarcerated or experiencing serious mental health issues are not eligible. This trial aims to find out if using the app can improve support and treatment for those struggling with opioid-related issues.
