ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying two different treatments to help prevent shivering in women undergoing a specific type of surgery called a lower segment cesarean section, which is often done to deliver a baby. The researchers want to see if giving a medication called tramadol alone is effective compared to using tramadol along with another medication, ketamine. Shivering can be uncomfortable after spinal anesthesia, and this study aims to find the best way to keep patients warm and comfortable during and after their procedure.
To participate in this study, women need to be between 18 and 40 years old and in good health, as determined by a doctor. This means they should not have certain medical conditions like high blood pressure or thyroid issues. If eligible, participants can expect to receive one of the two treatments before their surgery and will be monitored for any shivering afterward. It's important to note that the trial is currently looking for volunteers, and all treatments will be given under careful supervision by medical professionals.
