ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking to help family members and significant others of people with borderline personality disorder (BPD) by testing a special support program called a trauma response program (TRP). The program is designed to help these family members who may be dealing with their own feelings of stress and trauma because of their loved one’s challenges. The Sashbear Foundation will be working on this project, and the first part of the trial will involve gathering feedback from both the trained peer facilitators and the family members who take part in the program.
To be eligible for this trial, participants should feel that they have experienced trauma related to their loved one’s BPD and must have previously completed a program called Family Connections at Sashbear, which teaches skills for managing these tough relationships. The trial is not currently recruiting participants, but when it starts, those who join can expect to attend group sessions led by peers who understand their situation. It’s important to note that individuals who have had serious thoughts of harming themselves or have significant BPD symptoms in the past year will not be included in this study. Overall, this trial aims to provide valuable support to families during a difficult time.
