ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how "sarcopenic obesity" — a condition where a person is both obese and has low muscle mass — affects sleep quality in people with Obesity Hypoventilation Syndrome (OHS). OHS is a condition where people have trouble breathing while sleeping due to being overweight, which can lead to serious health issues. The researchers want to understand how having both obesity and low muscle mass impacts sleep, exercise ability, and overall quality of life in individuals with OHS.
To participate in the study, you need to be over 50 years old, have a body mass index (BMI) between 30 and 45, and have had a sleep study in the last six months. However, if you've had significant weight loss recently, been on certain medications like corticosteroids, or have serious health problems that could affect your participation, you may not be eligible. If you join, you'll be helping researchers learn more about this important issue, which could lead to better treatments and support for people with OHS.
