ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether Cannabidiol (CBD) oil can help reduce nausea and vomiting that some patients experience after undergoing gynecological surgery. While CBD oil has been effective for nausea related to chemotherapy, researchers want to see if it can also help after surgery. Participants in the study will either receive CBD oil or a similar-looking placebo (a non-active oil) before their surgery. The researchers will then compare the two groups to see if those who took CBD experienced less nausea, needed less pain medication, and felt more satisfied with their overall experience.
To be eligible for this trial, participants should be women aged 18 to 65 who are scheduled for elective gynecological surgeries under general anesthesia. However, individuals with allergies to cannabis or certain oils, those under 18, and those with specific medical or psychological conditions cannot participate. If you join the trial, you can expect to take an oil before your surgery and be monitored for nausea and pain levels afterward. This study aims to gather important information that could help improve the care of patients after surgery.
