ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying two different tests to help diagnose a condition called vesicoureteric reflux (VUR) in young children. VUR happens when urine flows backward from the bladder to the kidneys, which can lead to infections and other problems. The researchers want to see if a newer test called contrast-enhanced voiding ultrasonography is as effective as a traditional test called direct isotope cystography for diagnosing and grading VUR. The goal is to find a method that gives accurate results while minimizing any discomfort or risks for the children.
To participate in this study, children must be under 6 years old and have experienced at least two urinary tract infections that were confirmed by lab tests. However, children with certain conditions, like abnormal bladder function or specific urinary tract abnormalities, cannot join the trial. On the day of the tests, each child will undergo both examinations, but the doctors performing them won't know the results of the other test to ensure unbiased results. This study is currently looking for participants, and it aims to improve how VUR is diagnosed in young patients.
